Google AdSense Account Approval Process- 2025

174Shares

Update: I updated This article in August 2022 with the new AdSense account approval process.

It’s pointless to mention again that AdSense is one of the best contextual advertising networks. Until now, the AdSense approval process was simple: You create a new AdSense account, your account is reviewed, The AdSense team accepts your application, and you can implement ads on your site and start making money.

From now on, AdSense has changed the AdSense approval process and made this easy for new publishers.

Here is the new account AdSense approval process:

  1. Ensure your website is compatible with AdSense
  2. Sign up for an AdSense account
  3. Add the AdSense code on your website
  4. AdSense team review and approve/reject your website in 2-3 days
  5. AdSense team will ask you to verify your identity
  6. Add Payment information to get paid (Payment threshold is $100)

Once you add the code on your blog, that will show blank ads. Here is a video that shows how to create your first AdSense ad unit:

In a typical scenario, it would take 48 hours to review your application. Once your application is approved, it would start showing ads on your blog & you will start making money.

Here is the process for AdSense approval:

  • Register for an AdSense account by going to AdSense.com. Provide all the correct information about your Name, Address, and Website URL.
  • Login to your AdSense account, and create AdSense codes. Place the codes in your blog sidebar.
  • Ads will show as blank until the final approval process doesn’t finish. It may take up to 2 weeks for approval. Make sure you don’t remove the ads.
  • After the final AdSense approval, you will get a confirmation email.
  • Once your AdSense earning reaches $10, AdSense will mail you a PIN to your address.
  • Login to your AdSense account, and enter the Pin once you receive it.
  • Congrats you have completed all the steps. Once your account reaches $100, Google will send you or wire your earning. I recommend you to enable direct bank transfer for AdSense payments.

Though this will certainly help in domain ownership verification and moreover those who are signing up using someone else website, might find it tough to get into AdSense. If they still reject your account, it’s time to try out AdSense alternatives.

Have you signed up for AdSense recently? How was your experience with the new AdSense approval process?

Here is a video that will help you in adding AdSense codes on your WordPress blog.

    Hi Harsh,

    First of all thank you for this guide. Now I have a question, I had applied once before for adsense say before 3-4 months but got banned due to invalid click activity I had now closed that blog and made a new one i.e. http://www.techaspiration.com my question is that can I apply for adsense again using this domain, a new e-mail address and using the same name and address. Please suggest me what should I do.

    Regards Abhas

    1. Harsh Agrawal

      @Abhas
      I’m not 100% sure about it, but you can try applying using new email & domain. Do let us know how it goes..

      1. Abhas Singh

        Thanks, and what about residence address should I change it or not.

        1. Harsh Agrawal

          @Abhas
          If you can change it that would be great. If you want to be super safe, you can create the new account under your blood relatives name. Usually brother/Sister or parents.

    2. Ravindra V S

      Once the Google Adsense Account is banned You can not re apply for it. If You re apply they won’t accept according their policies. So Open Fresh account with new Website.

    Hi, Harsha, first of all Thank you very much for sharing google Adsense new approval process.
    I have a question and I know you will definitely resolve it. I have been implementing things you have said already about google Adsense approval from last 15 days but still not completed. I have only 4 to 5 posts on my wordpress.org blog.today I read your post and get excited too much. so please suggest me should I apply for google Adsense approval now or should I stay for few more days to complete at least 10 to 15 posts and then apply for approval.now I have nicely written two three pages along with other 2 pages or I will make all important pages required to Adsense along with my already written pages and then apply for approval.
    suggest me what I do because now Adsense approval become easy than before and now I afraid if I apply after 10 days, will their new approval process remain continue or they stop
    thank you very mush for sharing

    Hi Harsh, first of all thanks for writing this great post. Very helpful

    I have one question. 4 years back I created a blog named cgvalley.com and instantly signed up for adsense and it got rejected, maybe the reason will be less traffic I think. So I started posting more and more in my blog to get more traffic and as per Google you can have only one adsense account and you can sign up again right? So I signed up again with my different Google Account for adsense and it was accepted by Google. Say CgValley.com was created on Blogger using “Account A” and I got adsense application approval on “Account B”. Account A was rejected for adsense but account B was approved. The problem is my ads are working on other website but not working on cgvalley which was created using account A and other sites are built on wordpress. I want to show my ads on cgvalley but its not working. What should I do? I also added account A as an user to use Adsense using Adsense “account access & authorization” option but still its not working and saying you can only use one account for adsense. A suggestion would help.

    Note : I have 3 websites , cgvalley.com(blogger), newskoolstudios.com (wordpress) and kodestat.blogspot.in. My ads are working on other websites except cgvalley.

    Regards & Thanks,
    Raunak Hajela

      @Raunak
      I have gone through your query & believe your query can be solved by AdSense team only or somebody who have had similar issue.
      I suggest you to post the query on forum: https://productforums.google.com/forum/#!forum/adsense

      Once you have resolved the issue, do come back & let us know what went wrong.

          Are you using same email address when reapplying? Try applying from a new email & for a new domain.

    Please Help.
    I applied to adsense last week, but I never received an email saying I had passed or failed the first step. I cannot log into adsense, it says

    Account Not Active
    An AdSense account does not exist for this login, as your application is currently in review. Within a week of your application date, we’ll review your application and follow-up with you via email. Once you are approved to join AdSense, you’ll be able to log in to your account and get started

    What should I do?

  12. prabhu

    Hi Harsh, We have started PPC (Only google adwords – search network) for our website and we found out 500+ keywords with low competition and started bidding on them. As ur website is very informative each ppc visit is generating around 5-6 page views and hence we are receiving 10 times more revenue from paid traffic than what we spend. Now, my question is , does Google consider this as arbitrage and ban our account? jut to be on safer side, we have removed ads from our landing pages. Should i take any other steps or this revenue model is acceptable with adsense? Please clarify if you have some experience.

    Regards,
    Prabhu VG.

  13. Tapan Biswas

    Hello Sir,
    I get my AdSense account a week ago.
    Now my question is If my 50% blog trafic is came from Facebook , then my AdSense a/c get banned ?

    1. Harsh Agrawal

      @Tapan
      No issues with Facebook or any other social-media traffic. Your account won’t be banned for such traffic, even if you buy traffic from Facebook using Ads.

    I have been waiting for adsense second step approval since the last 8 days. I wonder why it takes too long. the first time I applied for adsense second step, I was denied in 4 days. but in the second time I still not find out their decision to approve or denied my site.

    1. Harsh Agrawal

      @Rush
      That’s normal & sometime it takes time! Wait for another one week & see what happens!

  15. Ralph

    It’s been 4 days since I placed my code on my sidebar, up to now it’s still under review. How long do we have to wait?

  16. Ramesh

    Hello harsh, I am waiting for 2nd stage approval of adsense. I displayed two blank ads inside the Post. But you are telling here display blank ad at side bar. Is it mandatory display blank ad at side bar ? or Is it ok at inside the post ? Please give me reply fast. I am totally confused. Iam newbie to blogging.

  17. Harshita

    It seems like a tricky process and sometimes near to impossible. But, I could very confidently say, from my personal experience that it is very easy to get an Adsense account if you don’t try to play smart with Google. I mean, do everything the correct way and you’ll get it. I have a blog on free blogging platform- Blogger, but still I got an Adsense account as soon as my blog was 6 months old.

    1. Harsh Agrawal

      @Harshita
      You are right about not trying to downplay Google. Many new users try to use trick, hack to get AdSense approval, and this is one reason it’s hard for them to get an account. Or even if they get an account, it gets disabled in short span due to violating AdSense TOS. Regarding 6 months time, it’s a myth as you can get approval even in a month time.

  18. Surya

    Hi Harsh,

    Thanks for the guide, with the help your guide and prerequisites I have waited until my blog has (20+) posts and then applied, within 12 hours the first step finished.

    I am still waiting for the second step. I have placed two adcodes on the sidebar, one is enough or two will be ok ? And that too same adcode I have placed two times.

    Can you advise me on this, Thanks in advance.

    1. Harsh Agrawal

      @Surya
      That’s ok, and now you need to wait for a while (About 1 week) before you get final response from AdSense team.

  19. Firoz Ahmed

    Harsh you haven’t mentioned Personal Identification Number (PIN) after getting approved we have to verify our Address, this PIN sent by Google on your own address and you have to place it into your Adsense Account then you will receive your first payment until it will be on hold…

    1. Harsh Agrawal

      @Firoz
      I completely missed out on that. I have added it in the post not, thanks for informing! 🙂
